Why was MyBoxShop Started?

We are moms of teens! We didn’t want our daughters putting non-organic products with harmful chemicals and dioxins in the most absorbent part of their body, so we set out to find the healthiest Organic options out there. We also wanted our daughters to embrace having their period, and not feel embarrassed. We wanted to help remove the stigma and change the conversation by having fun with the brand, bringing humor, full transparency, and better design to the whole experience!

What is meant by No Toxins, Period. ?

Our campaign line, “No Toxins, Period” speaks to the organic, healthy aspect of the brand but has a much bigger meaning as well. To live your best life, you need to be free of toxins of all kinds - toxic relationships, toxic thoughts, toxic social situations, and yes, toxic products.

Why organic?

What you put inside your body is important.  We care about your health.  Our tampons are made with healthy organic cotton which is grown without pesticides or insecticides, and they free of any chemicals, dyes, bleach or fragrances.

Most Commonly Asked Questions About Periods & Tampons

Is it safe to sleep with a tampon in?

Yes! But, it's very important that you change your tampon every eight hours to avoid getting toxic shock syndrome.

Where do you put a tampon?

You put the tampon in your vagina. We ladies have 3 holes. Going from front to back... there is one for pee, then your vagina where your tampon goes, and one for poo. Make sure you put it in the right place! And only use a tampon when you are on your period.

How old do I have to be to use a tampon?

Any age! As long as you have your period. And remember to only use tampons when you are menstruating.

Why are my periods so painful?

Your uterus contracts to help expel its lining, often causing cramping.

Hang in there!! You can try over the counter pain relievers (doctor permitting) like Advil, Aleve, Midol, heating pads, a warm bath, exercise, a massage...

Can I swim when I have my period?

Yes! But you will need to use a tampon or menstrual cup to prevent from bleeding on your swimsuit. Do not use a pad while swimming, it will fill up with water and not absorb your menstrual fluids.

Is it normal to have irregular periods?

It is normal to have irregular periods during the first years of starting your period. The average periods are usually anywhere between 21 and 35 days apart. It is always best to check with your doctor.

Can virgins wear tampons?

Yes! Using tampons does not cause a girl to lose her virginity.

How often should I change my pad?

It depends on your flow. We recommend that you change your pad every 3 to 4 hours to prevent odor from bacteria.

Do your pads have wings?

Yes!

Getting Started

Do I have to sign up for a subscription?

No! You can place a one time order, or sign up for a subscription.

Our subscription is designed to make it easier so that you don't have to think about buying products every month.

How does MyBoxShop subscription work?

It’s easy to live toxin free! First, select which product(s) you want and number of boxes you'd like delivered every other month. Enter your shipping and billing information and no more going to the store.

How frequently will MyBoxShop subscription come?

We ship your order every 8 weeks because we want to help save the environment by conserving shipping materials and reducing your carbon footprint.

Does my subscription automatically renew?

Yes, when you sign up for MyBoxShop, you’ll automatically be shipped products every other month.  You can visit the My subscriptions page under MY ACCOUNT to adjust, skip, or cancel your subscription anytime.

Can I order tampons, pads, liners, and Menstrual Cups?

Absolutely!  You can customize your order with any products we offer.

Subscription Management

How do I log into My Box Shop account?

Click "Log In" on the top right corner of our site and enter your email address and password. Click "Next," and you will be logged into your MyBoxShop account. 

How do I cancel my subscription?

We hate to see you go.  To cancel your subscription, sign into your account and go to the "My Subscriptions" page on the left-hand side. Next to each product you want to cancel, click "Cancel." 

If I want to skip an order, how do I do this?

You can skip (or un-skip!) an order before 12 AM PST (up to 48 hours before) on the day your subscription is set to renew. If you skip after midnight on your renewal date, your order will have already processed. If it is past midnight on your renewal date, please reach out to us at hello@myboxshop.com for assistance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. 

I need to change my quantity/absorbency – how can I do that?

Go to your account, and click edit box, from there you can make any changes to your subscription. Any changes, additions to your order need to be done 48 hours before we ship.

Shipping

Is shipping free?

Yes! On all orders over $30.

How can I track my order?

Each order has a specific tracking number that will be emailed to you after your order ships. If you no longer have access to the email address on your MyBoxShop account, you can request your tracking information by emailing us at hello@myboxshop.com.

How do I update my billing/shipping address or credit card on file?

To update your billing information, sign into your account <here>. Once logged in, go to "My account" in the upper right-hand corner, and then click "Billing information" at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can edit your billing information by clicking "Edit address" under your current billing address, or "Update card" under the information for your current card on file. 

My tracking information says my order was delivered but I did not receive it.  What do I do?

Life happens.  Sometimes, our packages will be delivered to a neighbor or a mail center. If you look around and are still unable to find your MyBoxShop order, just email help@myboxshop.com and we'll make sure you get your products.

My order arrived damaged or arrived with the incorrect products.  What should I do?

MyBoxShop Tampons

What makes MyBoxShop tampons unique?

They are made by the top manufacturers, using the best organic cotton and are GOTS certified and FDA approved.

Where are my tampons made?

Slovenia and Barcelona.

How do you insert a tampon?

We have included a diagram to show you how insert a tampon in the tampons section of the website where the images are. Also, each box of tampons comes with special instructions on how to safely insert a tampon.

How do the tampons expand?

Tampons are designed to expand inside your body like an upside-down umbrella, to absorb your menstrual flow. 

Are MyBoxShop tampons tested on animals?

We love all furry animals, so our tampons are not tested on animals.

What absorbency levels do MyBoxShop tampons offer?

We currently offer super plus, super and regular tampons to meet your different menstrual needs.

How often should I change my tampon?

The FDA recommends that you change your tampon every 4-8 hours.  Please don't leave one in for more than 8 hours.

MyBoxShop Liners & Pads

What kind of Pads & Liners does MyBoxShop offer?

We offer Day Pads that hold 60ml, Light Panty Liners which will protect your panties but only hold 5ml, Regular LIners that hold 15.5ml, and Long Liners that hold 18ml.

Are your pads and liners organic?

Our pads have an 100% organic cotton top sheet to protect your skin from ever touching something harmful again.

MyBoxShop Menstrual Cups

What is a Menstrual Cup?

A Menstrual Cup is a cup with stem on the end (for removal) that is made of flexible medical grade silicone. You fold the cup to insert into your vagina and then when you release the fold it forms a seal, and it collects menstrual fluid. You can keep it in for up to 12 hours, depending on how heavy your flow is. You pull the stem to remove the cup, empty it, rinse with mild soap and water, and then you can reinsert for another 12 hours. It's a great alternative to tampons!

How do I use a Menstrual cup?

We have detailed directions and diagrams on the Menstrual Page on the website. Your MyBoxShop menstrual cup will also come with a User Guide. If it's your first time, it can take a little getting used to but once you've done it a few times most women never want to go back to using tampons!

Are MyBoxShop menstrual cups reusable?

Yes! And they can last several years. A great choice for the environment! Just make sure you wash it with mild soap and water.

How long can I keep a menstrual cup in for?

Up to 12 hours!

What size Menstrual cup am I?

Size 1 (lower cervix) is for women under 30 OR for women who have not yet given birth.

Size 2 (higher cervix) is for women over 30 OR for women who have given birth.

Can I have sexual intercourse with a Menstrual Cup in?

No. Please make sure to remove the cup prior to sexual intercourse.

When is my credit card charged?

We charge your card the day your subscription renews and your order processes. We will always send you a reminder email 2 days before your order is set to renew, in case you want to adjust or skip your order before your payment is processed. 

Please note that skips must be placed on every product that you don't want to receive before 12 AM PST (48 hours prior) on the day your subscription is set to renew. If you skip after midnight on your renewal date, your order will have already processed.
